Yale Campus

The vision for Yale Campus has continued to evolve and take shape since Blume Company Real Estate’s initial purchase of the 617 Eastlake site in 1988.

McCaw Cellular Communications engaged Blume to build a 81,871 square foot build to suit on the 617 Eastlake site.

In 1999, Blume purchased and developed the neighboring site, 1260 Mercer. The 106,000 square foot building was preleased to another high-tech trailblazer, Onvia.com.

After assembling additional parcels in South Lake Union adjacent to 617 Eastlake and 1260 Mercer, The Blume Company planned an additional 795,000 square feet of office and life science space in five new buildings.

In 2008, a market shift prompted Blume to modify its plans. The adjustments resulted in a full city block anchored by a 20,000 square foot Bright Horizons childcare center complete with an outdoor play area.  Blume entered into a joint venture with AMLI Residential yielding 304 residential apartments in two development phases.

Based on the growing need for housing in South Lake Union, Blume completed construction in June 2018 on 624 Yale, a mixed use building that added 206 residential units to the neighborhood.
