Goodwill Games International Broadcast Center
440 5th Avenue North
Blume Company Real Estate provided development services for a seven acre site that was converted into the Turner Broadcasting System’s broadcast center for the 1990 Goodwill Games.
Ted Turner created the Goodwill Games in response to the political troubles that afflicted the 1980 Olympics. Over 2,000 athletes from around the world came to compete in Seattle and its neighboring cities across the state. Over one billion people worldwide viewed the Games from this 80,000 square foot, high tech facility.
The former Goodwill Games site is now home to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s campus.
